It is only day 2 in “Blogging 101” and I am already at least twice as excited as I was yesterday! I am so impressed with the amount of amazing blogs I’ve seen, the huge variety of people I’ve talked to, and the amount of visits, comments and likes that I’ve received in my own blog. I guess I wasn’t expecting to find such a wonderful and involved blogging community since day 1. I love it!
For today, the assignment was to take control of the blog’s title and tagline. I am really happy with the title and tagline of my blog, but it did take me some time to come up with them, and originally I was juggling a couple of different names in my mind.
I knew that I wanted to write about the things I enjoy and tell the process of them coming together in the right way for me. I also knew that one of the things I wanted to write about (and even though I haven’t done it yet I still have the firm intention to) was sewing tutorials. So in the name I wanted to play with words like fitting or measure, and I came up with these first two ideas: “Made to Measure” and “The Perfect Fit”. But then I realized that I wasn’t considering the process factor, the idea of trying and learning in the way, like a project. That’s how the name “The Perfect Fit Project” came to life. The tagline was easy after that, it was going to be “a blog about homemade happiness”, of all things made with love.
I really enjoyed designing the header and including all those little drawings that for me represented the topics I wanted to write about. I am not a 100% sure that the fonts I picked were the right ones, but for now they fit. Also, I realized that I still don’t have a very clear idea of the branding of the blog. I guess that will come with time.
Anyway, this is the story behind “The Perfect Fit Project”. Hopefully soon you will see some sewing tutorial, DIY stuff for the house, more recipes, trip adventures and so on.
Hope you will join me in this journey!
