A tea for the cold

Ginger_tea_for_the_cold

A short post today. I got sick and had to stay at home resting and drinking tea all day. I have two types of teas that I like to drink when I am sick. One normally involves chamomile (or the tea of your preference), one lime, half a thumb of ginger and a little bit of honey. It makes me feel better during the day when I have a sore or itchy throat.

At night, I try something a little different. It was one of my Grandma’s recipes (who would have turned 95 this very day). I change the ginger for one spoon of the strongest alcohol I can find. I tend to use Pisco, but I have also tried the tea with rum and it works just as well. The idea is to drink the super hot beverage (tea, lime, a little bit of honey and a spoon of alcohol) before going to bed and sweat as much as possible. If you try it, I recommend having a towel and a spare shirt in case you need to change in the middle of the night. It has worked for me before, so I’ll be trying it again tonight. Hopefully, I’ll wake up feeling better tomorrow.

That’s all for now, good night!
